??? ECU Fault ???

can any one help? i've bought a 3.0 surf as a none runner, i plugged my wire into the diognostic port to see if it had any codes before i start stripping it down and it doesn't flash at all, does this mean my ecu is dead or could it be something else?

Are you 100% sure you had the right connections jumpered?

Is the ECU still there?
Batteries got charge in them?

When you say non runner, what's actually wrong with the truck?

batterys are good ECU is in place, all fuses are there, the guy i bought it from said he ran it dry of fuel and it never ran again!
I even removed the alarm in case it was an imobiliser fault

It's probably something to do with the diagnostics port then. Maybe what you're using to jump the terminals isn't making a good connection due to all the dielectric grease in there?

There's a fuse for the ECU (20A) in the fuse box by the throttle pedal and there's a relay for it (ECD) in the fuse box under the bonnet.
