Air con fans not working

Hi, can anyone tell me how the two fans on hte air con rad are wired up? Only one works at the moment.

I swapped the supply over, and still only one worked. I then disconnected the supply to the non-working fan and the working one stopped.

This suggests that they are wired in series some how.

Any one had similare probs?....

Is yours an auto?
Some 2nd gen Surfs have the air-con rad under the front below the bumper.

The fan you can see behind the grill in front of the normal rad is an extra fan for the trans cooler, and only comes on if its really hot.?

It's the two fans underneth the engine. Like I said, only one comes on...

I just had this problem with mine but both my fans where seized, have you checked the relays under the bonnet?

Thought about just swapping them over, which should prove where the fault is. Wasn't sure how to get them out, do they just pull out?

They do just pull out but they are not interchangable

Why's that then? Is that the reason one is green and the other red?

1 has 4 connections & 1 has 5 I think,I do know that they are different shapes.
