cutting out

hi all
some time the engine cuts out like as though
there is a short i have look but cant seem to locate it . also my starter is slow i have had the batterys check they are ok volt meter is pushing 16+ any help

im not exactly an expert so probbly best wait till the pros come along but slow starting yet you say you batterys 16+ volts? should be 12.8-13.4 ish for battery alone and around 14.4 ish running, 16 is way too high and will possibly start frying things, again im not an expert just a weekend tinkerer with my truck but pretty sure 16+ volts is bad if thats what you meant by 16+

just found the problem it was a dodgy earth
