Installed my new CB in the dash!

I have now finished installing my new CB (and ariel) into my 3rd Gen and it fit like a glove in place of the ashtray.


And after changing my mind 500 times, I decided to weld a bracket onto the spare wheel carrier to mount the ariel onto.



Apart from still needing to spray the bracket black, the CB install looks pretty good I reckon, and it stopped the ashtray opening on it's own every time I pulled away from a junction lol!

Thanks, I made a bracket from an off cut of 50 x 10 x 1.5mm box cut at one end with a hole saw and chopped out the bottom section of the box to make a kind of U channel bracket. Then tarted it up a bit by shaping round the dome mount and angeling the edges and welded it on. Disconnected the battery first though, incase it fried the electrics. Now i just need to paint it all black and it will be sorted!
