strange windows....why

after taking the key out of ignition,windows don't work.....unless i open a door,then all work with no key in ignition,

close door....no worky
open door again...no worky
put key in and switch on/switch off they'll work again only when a door is open, untill i shut door,then i have to put key in again

there's nothing wrong, just wondered why this would be,what possible benefit is there ? to have one chance of using windows with no key but only when door is open

2.4s do this, 3.0s dont. It's to allow you to close the windows if you forgot to do it before you took the key out and opened the driver's door. It's on a reasonably short timer, so not a security issue.
