  • Toyota Hilux Pick Up ........Dead Electrics

    Hi Everyone

I have a mega power problem with my 1992 Toyota Hilux Pick up and would be grateful for any help.

It has Good tested Batteries connected properly. I have front lamps, horn and hazard warning lamps and interior light. But little else

I don't have wipers, back or front indicators, brake lights, fuel, temp gauge or any instrumentation lights.

Also no power just a click when I try and start.

I am aware of 2 fuse boxes 1 by driver door footwell and 1 under bonnet but everything has checked ok.

    Is there another fuse somewhere?

I have looked behind glovebox as suggested in another thread but not a fusebox in sight.

Also any ideas on where to get a manual.

    Any help much appreciated

For a manual, try Haynes. I got one from them which covers the LN series cars & pick-ups. You need ref 92736 (which is the Aussie manual) if it's diesel or 92735 if it's petrol. Milners and Roughtrax carry them as well.

If you remove the glove box there are two fuses inside what looks like a relay on the surf don't know about pickup, have you done some work on it or did it just happen?

        Just a couple of thoughts...

Does it have an immobilser installed? If so try disconnecting it.
Have the batteries been disconnected and tested individually?
