Central Locking

Have a key with lock unlock buttons but nothing happens, have tried new battery, understand box under drivers seat is the unit for it, Has anyone any ideas or just forget about it

Remote locking

I've just come indoors from sorting out exactly the same problem.
In my case it was the contacts within the key. I opened the key up by removing the tiny screw and then carefully cleaned the contacts and re-assembled, taking care that the battery didn't move away from the contacts.
Job done.
Has the remote locking ever worked on your vehicle whilst in your possession?
If not, it could be someting more complicated than a simple contact clean - but try that first.

I`ve only had the surf for a week, so not sure about if it works or not, cleaned contacts and removed crud before fitting new battery
