  • Double DIN - Single DIN with Tray / Cubby?

Anyone done this on a 2nd Gen?

The original cassete remains but the replacement CD sits on top of it apparently minus its cage as I think the standard double unit remains (looks scrappy to be frank especially seeing as the tape dont work!). I want to get the right bits and pieces to modify it to be a single DIN cage with a Single DIN cubby hole under it.

    I found a website here

    http://www.nexxia.co.uk/products.asp...on=CAR%20AUDIO

they sell all manner of various bits and pieces that Im sure will do the job but without knowing exactly whats what to fit the surf dont want to buy something that doesnt work.

Advice and pointers to a supplier please

I have a cubby from my truck (3rd gen) removed when I fit my scanner. Fiver gets it

It's like a tiny glovebox with a flip down front and is single din high.

      Sounds good to me

Will it fit easily into the gap left when I take the tape player out ie slot straight in or would it need to be mounted with some brackets etc?

Hi Apache, do you still have the cubby tray thing with the flip down lid? Or did Bayside buy it? I'll take it if he didn't/doesn't want it as it's what I've been looking for for ages!

        Cheers,
