  • HELP ! Ma baby died, needs resurrecting

hope someone out there can work this out?.....
Here goes..... Xmas night i went out to drop a friend off after work,
    i had driven about two
miles when all my dash lit up,
my glow light beep was goin mental
and the car spluttered to a stop! Wouldnt start again and the
recovery came. To no avail he dropped me at my mechanic, who was
obviously shut! The recovery reckoned a fuel prob? Anyyway back to the story
we diagnosed a faulty primer head on the filter and a leaky injector, dully corrected and
i picked my baby up yesterday, she had been runnin fine in the garage for 30 mins
drove her up the road about 2miles to the bank at the petrol station and as
i turned in she passed out again!!! Same symptoms? She is back at garage
now and mechanic is baffled??? but reckons there is no power
to plugs, has checked 80am fuse and fine , could it be the relay and if so where is it? What does it look like?
At my wits end, feel like i lost my arm
defo looks like relay as when we disconnect batteries for ten mins, all is fine again
until i drive her out the garage, needs a defibralator or something lol
    albannach any ideas?
Merry xmas and happy new year btw

When my dash lit up and the beeper started it was my alternator what was buggered, if that's any help

The "Glow Light Beep" you describe is the 'Ignition On' warning beeper, it just happens to have the same length of timer as the glow plugs.

If it's beeping randomly, perhaps theres a problem with your ignition switch or ignition wiring? It's not unknown for the electrical part of the ignition switch (behind the lock) to fail.

I had a mk3 escort and the main live to ignition was loose, kept doing the same thing, cutting out whilst driving, took ages to realise too
My brakes dont work, so i made the horn louder.

The glow plug relay is on the inner passenger side wing, got Glow Plug Relay printed on it.

            Its controlled from the ECU.

Have you done the fault codes to see if there is a recognised fault?

The truck will definatly run with no glow plugs, and in the end will start too.

doing the fault codes tomorrow, it starts and runs ok for about a mile or so then dies!
Thats why thought it was a fuelin prob, thats when discovered faulty primer and leaky injector, so
when sorted those probs , thought that would be it...then it did the same again!!
Will let u know more when i check codes

Try driving it with the fuel cap off.
