Imobiliser problem becoming a pain

I took mine out of my 2nd gen when it started playing up. Never replaced it as I'm in a fairly benign part of the world regarding car theft. What's Kiddy like?

Can't say to be fair as I live in a little village outside it. Don't think "overall" the wyre forest has a high car theft rate though. However, bloke up the road had both his cars taken last summer, in a "walk through the front door, pick up the keys and drive off" type incident. Twas a new merc and a new X5 from memory. police reckon they were being watched.
Thankfully 3, yes 3 of my neighbours are in the Force, hopefully that will "bend" any crime (read crims known to the fuzz) away from us!
Gonna look at replacements anyway...
