Not Charging

Hi
my batterys have been going flat, the idiot light that says the alternator isn`t working didn`t light up so i got new batterys, that didn`t work so i got a new alternator, it was charging when it was fitted but isn`t now tho the gague seems to indicate that sometimes there is a charge going to the battery but not often, the batterys still die after a few days, Dunno what to do next, Any ideas ?

Does the charge light come on with the ignition?

You either got a bad connection somewhere or something is draining the batteries.

i had this happen last week,my alt belt was loose and slipping.make sure its not loose.

Spot on, its sposed to have two drive belts to the alternator, the garage that fitted the alternator only put one on and that was the wrong one. its running fine now
