Back door closed, but BACK DOOR light is still lit on dash. Window wont go up

ok im still struggling with this. The motor has now been replaced. But the window still wont go up and down. The car thinks the back door is still open, so it wont let the window go up. The BACK DOOR light is lit on the dash and Ive tried giving it a good slam shut but its still on.
Is there a way of potentially bypassing this so the switch would work anyway, with the tailgate open or not. Or is there a much more simple fix? Help would be much appreciated, there a few virtual pints in it for anyone who can help!

I dont want to have to take it into a garage, as im fairly poor at the mo. But i may have to, as my band start gigging soon and im supposed to be lugging all the equipment around!

unplug the latch switches, the rear interior light won't work, but the ECU will think the latches are shut and if it still dosn't work it'll be something else.

As someone else said, the light also won't go out till the lock button is up, it should go up automatically as the window goes up.
