  • CD Player

    I've just taken delivery of a Surf ssr-x 3.0ltr.
All seems to be working ok other than the CD player.
Does anyone know if it's because the cd's are different in this country?
Otherwise it must be a faulty player.

    Cheers
    Pev

Tried mine out at the dealers and neither the CD nor the cassette worked. Dealer got a new radio for me and had it fitted. See pic. It took a while to work out what all the buttons did but it's a great radio and far better than the Toyota original.

        Ok.

        Can anyone please tell me.

If I buy another similar unit would it just be a straight swap over ?
Or will I have to change adapters or wiring ?

A friend of mine has a Toyota Double Din out of a car which I'm hoping will fit .

If its another standard Toyota unit it should be a straight swap, as most will use the same wiring connectors. Some of the standard Toyo units however use a seperate amplifier, if the new unit uses one make sure you get it too.

I had to remove the mini amp that sits behind the stereo when I replaced my stereo with a new one, (single din which causes different problems but in the end I think this is the best way forward). I bought an adapter from halfords (rip off) and that plugged into the back of the stereo and the plug that went into the amp.
