I had to do some work on a mate's surf for his MOT .

i got it all done but his rear window will not work . he says the key switch has never worked but the internal switch was ok till a few weeks back .
i have stripped out the tail gate cover and powered the window down with a power probe so i know that is ok but could hear a clicking from inside the n/s rear 1/4 panel , i have found a control pack and just wanted to know if this is a common problem .

the relay which you found in that rear quarter panel is known to fail but i think they can be repaired or buy a working 2nd hand one

I had this issue recently and Lord Lucan kindy pointed out that it was the rear wiper, it wasn't parked correctly.

Even if it all looks ok turn the wiper on and off and it might be fine.

i got the relay from the 3.0l breaker which i know for certain is a good working one.Just give a shout if its needed
