Different Alternators

Does anyone know if the if the internal bits (stator and rotors etc etc) are the same on the pre '92 alternator (vacum pump on the back) as the post '92 alternator (vacum pump on the front) on a 2.4 TD non EFI

As having trouble sourcing a new or second hand pre '92 alternator and I am wondering if I can just swap the bits over?

Ye it does, ir would appear bits are not swap-able.

Back to the hunt for an alternator then.

Annoying thing is wifey just wants the alternator so she can sell the truck and get a decent price compared to not having a an alternator

I have an old one knocking about. It looks ok but i havent tested it.
£20 plus the postage if your interested.
