  • Calling all car eletrical experts!

    Hi All,

I'm installing an alarm/remote locking to my Surf and I am after a bit of confirmation regarding wire colours (to make sure I'm reading the haynes manual right).

    Can anyone confirm:

CENTRAL LOCKING (I've tried looking at the switch but cannot see wire colours) Haynes page 12-36

To lock it is the RED/WHITE wire?
To unlock it is the RED/YELLOW wire?

    INDICATORS - Haynes page 12-26

    The Indicator COMMON is BLUE/RED?

I'm pretty I've worked out all the other wires (and there are a lot!)

LMAO - I'll give them back once my alarm is working! How would you test them?

            Arrggghhh!!!

            95% there with alarm!

Indicators don't flash though! Have i Gone totally wrong or just a little wrong?

I've wired into GREEN/BLUE and GREEN/YELLOW which i'm pretty sure is right.
The Indicator Common is BLUE/RED but this is with the ignition on.
With the ignition off do i go into hazard common? This should be GREEN

Is it the common wire which breaks the circuit at the ignition?

              It's not GREEN!
I managed to work it out (trial and error) The BLUE/WHITE on the Hazard switch is permanent live for indicator common - Dixie.t can have his manuals back!
