  • no dashboard illumination

This is probably my fault, well actually it is my fault, with no power to my cigar lighter I tried to source power from the plug which attaches to the dashboard clock (there is no clock fitted so the plug is accessible). Anyway I got the power I wanted but only when the lights were off, when on I lost the power I had found. So I tried again and seem to have buggered something because I now have no dashboard nor gear selection illumination.
Can someone please help, I have checked all the fuses I can find within the engine bay and below the dash drivers side and all are good.

it has to be a fuse mate, not sure where to look though, there may be another lot of fuses passenger side. As for power for the cig lighter this normally comes from a 10 amp fuse which does the mirrors, clock and sterio i think .. sorry cant be too much more help

The wiring to the clock is not designed to power the cig lighter. You can easily run a fused cable of the right gauge straight from the battery to the lighter, and put it through a relay if you only want it working when the ignition is on.

        Much safer
