Alternator problem ?

What is the A/H rating of your battery ? and what is the CCA rating ?

The battery is knackered!
The alternator is doing it's job because your truck starts faster and the red light changes to green after 10 minutes of running, but the battery loses charge during the day.

As Matt sad, the little lights are a battery condition indicator.

Makes sense and a lot easier to change than alternator.

Bushwacker - can you recommend a good battery manufacturer as all my local auto shops seem to stock "My Mums" or "Smartprice" batteries

Toyota sell some pretty good batteries for these vehicles (and my 2 cost less than my local motor factors too!)

Halfords have a good range, just look on the shelves for one with the same ratings as the one you have now.
Or even Toyota dealers, they seem to be reasonable priced too.

New Yuasa type 334 battery fitted and truck starts brill.

Did notice that new battery weighs quite a bit more than the old one.

Thicker/better plates maybe ?

if its under 13.4 volts charging,it will be the alternator,battery will give u a temp fix of a few weeks
