Ignition buzzer continues when started

Hi, I'm new to Hilux's, bought a Surf 2.4TD, 92, about 6 weeks ago, that had been off the road for about 3 years. I have just got it started, but when I turn the ignition on, after about 5 seconds I get a high pitch buzzer going off, which I understand is normal (from reading some of the threads on the forum (great forum)), however, it never goes off even when the engine is fired up and running. Any ideas?

Sounds like the glow plugs are not going off.
