rear wiper mech issues

I have a 97 3L td. I am experiencing an annoying issue whereby the intermittent function on the rear wiper does not work and now the full time mode only works sometimes. It occassionally starts working briefly when I go over a bump in the road.

This makes me think that the motor itself is ok and it is a connection. I have checked all wiring and connections in the rear door and they seem ok. Any suggestions?
