alarm issues

the alarm ive fitted needs a negitve from the door switch to activate it and can i f**k figure this out as the surf supplys 12v when pin switch is closed .. i may be missing sumit simple but right now ive an alarm goes off when try to start the car but not when you open door and courtesy lights come on... some one help me.. also my interior light at back door no workee when you drop tailgate ..

you can pickup the wire behind the o/s kick panel fo the interior light circuit, from memory it's red with a green trace, but don't quote me on that. It'll be +12v with all the doors closed and go -ve when you open a door.
