folding wing mirrors

hi, the folding wing mirrors on my ssrx ltd seem to do strange things, if you have them folded, turn on ignition, nothing happens, press switch nearside moves to correct position but offside moves all the way round to the front so mirror glass is facing outwards... is this right?

no, i can only guess there's a broken/dislodged microswitch in the mechanism somewhere that should tell it where to stop, but isn't.
