  • Power Rear Under Mirror Not Working

My first post on this site about my first Surf which I bought on Wednesday, 1996 KZN185 SSR-G.

I bought it knowing that the Power Rear Under Mirror wasn't working assuming it wouldn't be too hard to get working. I haven't looked at it yet as I wanted to find a wiring diagram for it first and find out where it's fuse is.

    Could anyone help me?

    Thanks,
    Andy

    Fixed it

Well I spent Sunday morning on the rear mirror and finally got it working after taking the whole spoiler apart and testing the relay and motor only to find that they were fine. Got the WD40 out and the mirror was soon going up and back down again.

So if your rear power mirror ever stops working, it could just be seized up!!

From what I remember you can't just take the top of the spoiler off to reveal the motor and mirror, you have to take the whole spoiler off before you can take it apart because there are some bolts in hard to get places.

I fixed mine in the end by spraying WD40 with the little straw it comes with into and around the gap between the mirror and the rest of the spoiler and leaving it to work in. This released surface rust and it started working again.
