rear window and light

iv had my 1992 2.4 ssr-x for nearly 4years now and have just came across something new that has never happened before i was driving to work this morning it was cold so i switched on the rear window heater to demist it as it was taking longer than i wanted i desided to use the rear window switch to wind it down to clear it quicker as i done this the rear light came on and there was a beeping sound when i wound the window up the beeping stopped and the light went out like i said iv had my surf 4yrs and this has never happed b4 i presume this is suppose to happen so i must have a fault that has mybe corrected its self am i correct to presume this

I have heard that noise - 3 or 4 quick high beeps then a wee pause then 3 or 4 more beeps. I hear it when i try to work the window glass with the tail gate open without forcing closed catch - normally when trying to clean glass.
may well be one of your tailgate close switches etc is on it's way out - or damp??

yes you could rite their as it has been quite damp lately ill remove the cover tomorrow and have look see if the wires are damp or wet
