  • Front spot light ripped out by ARC Carwash

hi guys a new a ARC Carwash place opened up and were offering half price washes, so i thought i would get the surf washed, had a guy inspect the car prior to the wash to check for parts that can be ripped off! he gave me the all clear so i proceeded with the wash, half way through the rollers ripped of one of my front spot lights (ones that sit on the bullbar)
the guy that runs the place filled in an incident form but he said that the light were not standard and their Headoffice may not accept the claim,
anyhow i was thinking of an replacement
would do you guys think of these units http://www.toyotahilux.com/?doc=16&cid=781&vid=869

i have plans to fit a HID unit which is due in from Japan anyday now
just wondering if fitting these spot lights will effect the HID as roughtrax sell a loom for the spot lights that fot to your current loom

if anyone has any suggestions i would be great full or if anyone can confirm that the yellow Bosch lights are standard or not
thanks in advanced and merry christmas

bull bar was a factory option... mounting points on bar for fogs...
fogs where mostly factory options too...

you may want to consider the stainless ones from procomp...
        http://www.explorerprocomp.co.uk/aca...sSwitches.html

HIDs will likely come with their own looms, just depends on how you want to switch them in...

I have just bought a pair of these lamps, if you go for these you will also need to buy the wiring loom that they sellas i found the plugs they connect to behind the batteries, almost in the wings. They are fantastic lights. Only downside was i had to make up some brackets so they mounted in the right place. They are a lot deeper backs than the standard lamps.

            Cheers

well fitted the HID lights today,
and all i can say is "wow" i dont know why some many yanks are against them on the yota tech forums, but mine look sweet,
                even without the retro fit,
really light up the road more than std bulbs
                will post some pictures up...
the only downside is where to mount the ballast on the driver side, passenger side was easy, any ideas

I've been thinking about getting a HID kit (after spending a week in mothers car mine felt like I was running on sidelights). What happens when you go on main beam? I've read that some of them don't do a main beam, and some use halogen not Xeon for the main beam.
                          Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

if you have a single H4 kit then the main beams will not work at all,
but if you get a Bixeon kit then the bulb has a guard which will change direction projecting the beam in a higher position
