On my 2nd gen 3.0, my temp guage needle flicks randomly between stone cold and midway, so I would guess a loose connection somewhere. Where is most likely the problem? The sender unit? If so, where is it?

hi dave should be on the side of the thermostat housing it may be a duff sensor but more lightly just a connection
