  • Dead Surf! EFI Power?

My poor old 2.4 EFI (91) has died.

Started with intermittent cutting out, started after walking away, cursing and trying again.

Developed into not starting first time on the day, cured as above.

Finally won't start at all (fortunately outside home).

Tried all the usual suspects, (fuses and all the connectors I could find, not forgetting main permanent live fuse behind RHS kick panel which has power). No joy.

On the ECU behind LHS kick panel I can find no permanent live feed to any of the 56? connectors. I do get some volts with ign. on however.

If I jump some power to the fuel solenoid after unplugging connector it will start, but of course LOADS of black smoke. Not surprising as the manifold butterflys will all be closed if not powered.

Fault codes readout as no fault, which I think may be due to no permanent feed to ECU effectively resetting codes.

The wire from the main system fuse to the wiring harness does not match (colour markings) any of the wires to the ECU, which makes me think it
via a connector block or something en route but I can't find anything.

It's driving me up the wall, and my brain is hurting!!

Any ideas? I'm sure it's a duff connection somewhere, but I can't think where.
    Graham.

ECD relay in engine compartment fuse box? It controls the ECU.

I think there's a circuit breaker above the fuses in the footwell, push to reset.
