I have a 96 SRG 3.0 TD. Recently the 4 wheel drive indicator on the dash has started to flash intermitently, does any one have any ideas why this might be happening? Also it seems to take a long time for the 4 wheel drive to engage when selected, is this normal?

When does it flash? is it shortly after selecting/deselecting 4wd?
It normally flashes to indicate that it is in transition, ie has not fully made the selection required.
What speed are you trying to select at? are you under power when trying? How long is it taking to engage?Maurice

It may be worthwhile finding a suitable surface (ie loose) to cycle the system thru all its modes, including low range diff locked mode, a few times, as sometimes the components can become a little sticky thru lack of use.
Failing that I would start by checking all electrical and pneumatic connections to the ADD (automatic disconnecting differential).
hopefully somebody else can chip in with a thorough testing procedure.......Maurice
