I am new to all this and have wondered what the main differences are between the surf and landcruiser (besides the obvious ones)

um... they're different cars?
like an escort and a granada.
UK 4 runner and landcruiser colorado are the closest to the surf in UK spec

The 3rd Gen Surf (-96 to -02) shares a chassis with the LWB Landcruiser Prado of similar age, different bodyshell, different 4wd system, same engine if you get the intercooled 3.0TD, Same suspension setup altough the Cruiser gets discs on the rear whilst we have to make do with drums.

the main thing for me is the surf is cooler my surf turns heads that's all surfs not just mine
