tachometer failure

Hello there and happy new year 2007 for all...

I installed a dashboard from a runner 2.4turbo diesel on my toyota hilux pickup 1992 (2.4 diesel too... but non turbo).
The tachometer desesperately don't works. I installed the right fuel pump with sender, I tried 2 sender without good results.
It seems that the connectors in the dashboard are alright...
I really don't know where, now, to search for a failure...
Does anyone have experience in it?

If you do a search of the forum, I'm sure someone did the exact same thing, and had the same problem, within the last month or two. Can't remember the specifics, though.
