slugish back window

when i bought my surf in june the back window went up and down then the motor broke and the window was open for quite some time. after searching what fits i found my mates mr2 window motor fits like a glove. everything works ok now but the key and internal switch just clicks and eventualy opens. closing is not a problem is this the cold weather delaying the motor or the mechanicle parts need lubricating any ideas

Rubber lubricant. It's marketed as KY in the states.

Is this the same stuff they use in condoms.I don't use them myself as i can't stand the smell of burning rubber....
