  • Rear Interior Light

    Hi all,

I've got a 1992 SSR-G, when I open the rear doors the front interior light comes on but the rear passenger light doesn't, its in the door position but doesn't come on, I know the switches are ok because the front light comes on. I'm pretty sure they used to work.

does anyone know what this could be?

        Mornin all

I might be a bit thick here but I thought that the rear interior light only worked off the tailgate (it does on my 3rd gen)

Sorry if I'm talking complete rubbish but might save you having to rip something to bits

Its not the light in the boot, its the one for the rear passengers, I'm sure it used to work

I had a similar problem on my 2.4 when I got it. I just opened it up, cleaned all contacts, checked all was nice and tight, and bingo it worked.

sorry for the confusion (said I wa a bit thick)

In the 3rd gen there are 2 interior lights, one mid way along the roof that works off the doors and another in the boot that works off the tailgate.

Does this mean that there are 2 "passenger " ones in the 2nd gen (I assume one in the middle of the roof & the otehr at the front) if so I WANT ONE!!!

                  ta

Had me wonderin there for a mo, my 2nd gen only has one courtesy light that works off all four doors (plus the map lights at the front) the only other one is for the cargo area, dont know about the 3rd gens!

Mine must be a special one then cos Iv'e got one in the front, one for the rear passengers and also one for the boot. It was the rear passenger one that wasn't working but I've sorted it now, it was a dodgy connection on the fitting, re-soldered a connection and it works fine now.
