        Hi Ship

My rear window heater isn't working and I can't see where the wires are supposed to be. I have taken the carpeting off from the inside of the tailgate, and removed the black plate and the plastic sheet cover, but I cant wind the window up when the tailgate is down to see anything. Did you have to do it from inside the car with the tailgate up?

        Cheers

No, when tail gate is down flick the locks over on either side of the tail gate you can now open and close window with tailgat open.
WARNING support the window as it comes out or it will just fall out

              Hi again ship

Thank you very much for your help. I have now found the 2 connectors. Both of them have a wire missing. I now need to know where to buy two new connectors from as the wires are cut deep into the connector and I have no way of joining them together again. If any kind soul out there knows what part number they are, and where I can order them from, please can they let me know?

              Thanks

              Paul

hi paul, they are just plain old 12v connectors and you,ll get them in most motoring shops for next to nothing.

                  Thanks again ship.

Last question honestly! The 2 wires that have 'come off' are coloured white and red and the other is black. The 2 wires that are still attached to the connectors are also coloured white and red and the other is black.
Does one connector have 2 black wires attached and the other connector have 2 white and red wires attached? Or does each connector have 1 white and red wire and 1 black wire attached?

                  Thanks

hi paul, on mine its 1 wire to each connector, black wire to 1 connector, red and white 1 to the other and it doesn,t matter "which way round" when you connect them back to the window.

Just make sure that the wire doesn't become trapped underneath the botom of the glass in the down position. if it does persistant use will eventually cut/break the wire.
I speak from experience - bl**dy Toyota dealership stated they sorted this problem for the previous owner, when I dismantled the rear window to sort out various problems I found that they had taped the wires together and they were getting caught under the widow each time it was lowered. ARS**OLES!! Makes you wonder who certifies these dealer sparkys
                          NO WORRIES!

HA. Tried to jump start my Seddon Atkinson Strato from my mates Volvo 12. Unfortunately the batteries were underneath the slab tank. Positive connection touched the tank, rather loud bang, blew up 2 batteries and the slab tank, spilt 180 ltrs of go-go juice, 1 small fire and 2 extinguishers later the damage was £2500 and my boss was REALLY pi$$ed
