I have my 3 ltr td SSR X for over 3 years and not one problem !!!!!! I have now. My trip meter packed up on the speedo, so I bought a replacemant off E Bay. When I fitted it the turbo light now stays on and the speedo doesn't work. I think I have the Wrong one. I need an idiots guide to putting the wires back to the old speedo. Can anyone help?

Hi Kirryjim and welcome if you fill in your profile so we know what surf you have got.
If it is a 2nd gen with the drop down tail gate then on the clocks you will see a small rubber gromit take that out and use a cocktail stick or something and push thru you will see where it has to go and reset the timing light that way if you have the 3rd gen you will have to take the clocks out again and move a small screw.i will see if i can find a link to the 3rd gen

iT IS THE GREEN TURBO BOOST LIGHT WHICH IS ON ALL THE TIME. dO YOU HAVE A DIAGRAM FOR WIRING IN THE MPH/KPH CONVERTOR?

As far as I am aware the 2nd Gen 3.0 litre doesn't have a turbo light, although Hippo has the hole for it, BUT she does have aftermarket dials/gauges made for both the 2.4 & 3.0 models.

Kirry - can you confirm the first part of your VIN - ie KZN130 or LN130

Thanks for all the info. My truck is a KZN130. The problem SEEMS to be my secondhand dash. I bought it off E bay, fitted it using my original converter, now the speedo doesn't work at all and the green turbo light is permanantly lit. Do you think I've got the wrong one or have I been shafted!

i would say you have the wrong one as the kzn130 dont have a turbo light
it sounds like you've been sold one for a 2.4(ln130) and been shafted

You have the rong one, 3.0l don't have a turbo light so my guess is that the wiring is different as the speedo is also electronic pulse ( ie no speedo cable).
You have been supplied with a 2.4l speedo dash.

It may be possible to put the new speedo head in your old dash as long as you use your old printed circuit on you old dash and check the connections on the new speedo head to make sure they are the same as the old one.

think you will have to change the whole set again give tonyn a try to see if he has one for a kzn130 at www.4x4toys.co.uk

Sounds good, I only actually need the "trip" as everything else works. As its persistently poring down it looks like 2 speedos side by side on the kitchen table !!!!!!!!
