  • wiring up spot lights

    Hi

Can anyone tell me where the best place is to connect to the high beam light circuit? I'm connecting up some spot lights today and want to get it right.

    Thanks

    Andrew.

The drivers side headlight is the easiest place to connect into, thin green wire with a red stripe.
    Heres a diagram to help....

        Hi

I took the connector off the back of the drivers side headlight, and wired the spots straight into the connector - rather than splice anywhere.

        Thanks for the tip Vince.

Does that overload the circuit? I mean, will it burn out the wires?

That method should be used to trip a relay that is used, with suitable gauge wire,
to power the spots. That way, the spots come on automatically with full beam.
If the spots are directly wired to the circuit, it will probably burn out the loom.

Correct. You only pick up the live feed from the loom to power/trigger the relay/s. The power for the spotlights comes direct from the battery through a fuse.
