  • Rear Screen Demist & Switch Bulbs

    Hi,

Old chestnut I know but I have done the search and read some old posts with no joy.

    My question is:-

I have no light when I press in the rear demist switch button with the ignition on. I have checked the bulb and also the connectors at the window, they are still on. Also there is no live at the window. Should the rear door be closed when I do this check and should the switch light up even if there is a feed problem at the window end?

Also can you tell me where to buy some new switch bulbs, they come away from the holder, so am I looking for bulbs with long connector tails?

    Cheers.
Life on the edge is short, but the view is great !

Lilliput type wire ended bulbs. Should be available from any half decent
      electronics supplier.

Depends upon how bright you want them, or what's available. Or
you could mod them with a resistor-L.E.D instead of bulb.

                glass

Would the de-mist actually work if the glass was down,
or would the famous module in rear quarter, not allow that
                (along with wiper parking etc)

also would element be warm to touch, if I switched it on for a bit
                in the morning

I got some of these bulbs from Maplin on Saturday, they are smaller that the original so sit the holder further. But they seem to work OK and at 50p each - job's a goodun'
