Headslights Behaving strange !

Hi there forum peeps...

Got a weird problem on the old headlights - done searches cant find much.

What I got is when facing the front - the left side light is on headlight is off, then the right headlight is on and the side light is off.

Could this be a simple bulb or does it indicate something more sublime like a bad earth or relay ?

I'd appreciate any help as its off the road at nights and having a 6 month old we really need to get her working all hours again ! Not to mention that this happened while car is for sale ! EEEK,....

it does sound like an earth prob or 2 wires touching

Did this occur all at once or did you loose one bulb, then the other?
If you only put sidelights on do both wotk or is it still just the left one?

Initial thoughts.... my money is on the simple answer, two blown bulbs.

I would change the bulbs first....cheapest option or swap bulbs over then work it from there......

Just checked - looks like when side lights on - only the left sidelight illuminates as when you put headlights on.

does that help at all ?

I do hope its blown bulbs - the rear stop tail went last week and now these !

The headlights are on seperate fuses, #16 & 17 in the fuse box under the bonnet.
The sidelights are on one fuse, #7 in the drivers kick panel. If this was gone, both sidelights would be out.

My money's still on blown bulbs.

Morr - Spot on - it was only bulbs....and like 5 of them too ! licence plates side lights head lights and tail....
