So far I have discovered that its wheel off, arch cover out for access. Any more info?

check the american forum yotatech.com there are a few right ups, the one thing I can recormend from when I did it is get about 0.6m of extensions for your ratchet/wrench what ever you call it.
The american site will also tell you the part numbers, well atleast they did for my 4runner V6.

gool luck, it took me nearly an hour to get it out and about 10 mins to put it back as once you know what your doing its really an easy job.

Its a bit tighter on the diesels, the V6 the starter is the same side as the oil filter cut out on the inner wing, on the oil burners its on the other side of the engine. 3.0Td's are quite easy, I just remove the fuel filter and pull it up through the engine bay, I think the 2.4's need to come underneath. The only 2.4's I've had the starters out of have had the heads off as well, and its easy with plenty of room.
