If you have the electric speed sensor I guess you just hook a switch up on one of the wires where they go into the back of the dash.

Sounds Illeageal to me, It was bad enough when i had to use the truck with
no instruments in for a few weeks, One eye on the road and the other on the
mirror in case the man collared me.

Its not always to shaft buyers, I had cars in the past that have got close to their Insurance Co decided annual limited mileage, so the speedo had to 'break' for a month or two...

i too am interested in installing one of these switches. Nothing extremely dodgy- mainly to circumvent road tax (road user charges). Used mostly on hunting utes and trucks where they dont really do many km's on-road.

plus when your surf has done 300,000 kms plus, it's paid it's fair share of tax
