  • Fog Light to Rear Cluster MOD

Right, who can point me in the direction of the thread for this - I'm sure it's already been covered.

Alternatively, can anyone post instructions on how to do it? Write it like you're telling an 8 year old how to do it and you'll be approaching my level of technical expertise!!

    I'll be eternally grateful!

    cut wire at foglight

remove fog light (probably already done!)

remove trim from inside of luggage area and feed the fog wire to the cluster (you'll see where the wire goes)

take out cluster as if to change bulbs

cut wire leading to the reverse lamp (tape up the end so it doesn't contact with body)

join fog wire to the reverse lamp wire

    paint bulb red!

    put it all back together!

    it's a piece of ****.

Superb! Cheers for that! I'm almost tempted to go and do it now!!

If it's really that easy, even I can manage it! I might even treat myself to one of these LED bulbs so I dont have to paint it red - or would that not work?!!

yeah, they work. better too cos they're much longer life... (but are about £10 each!

hardest part's taking the trim off, couldn't tell you how to do a 2nd gen but on a 3rd there's 4 screws in the interior light, then pull that panel off, push rear seats forward and unscrew 1 screw under panel just removed, then pull side panel off... be a bit carefull as the clips can be a bit brittle.

joined to the red, which is the feed to the reverse light (now fog)

            Spot on, cheers for that!

I'm actually much less hopeless at electrics than I am at things of a mechanical nature, so it shouldn't be too stressful for me!!

I'll have a mooch on Ebay for one of the LED bulbs then.....
