can i not use 2x40a relays instead of 4x30a ? ie. 1 power lead(heavy duty) into one side and two wires spliced together out the other? so i would have i relay for high beam and a second for low beam or am i missing the point?

Well it seems you've sussed it out anyway, thats a very informative site at Daniel Stern Lighting, found that one myself a while back.Originally posted by ssrayIt appears i can http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...ys/relays.html
You can easily get away with 2 30a relays, 40a is overkill, but no problem either if they are what you have to hand. The only reason for using 4 relays is to have a greater degree of failsafe operation, ie if a relay fails you would only loose one lamp rather than two, but in all reality they tend to be fairly reliable.Maurice
