  • radio trim

    got a radio of half-wits which even comes with the exact same plug on back,
    so plugging it in at least proves aerial not only moves up and down, but works
    as well,
    apparently very front of radio hole-trim means radio itself won't physically push into place, so (some) dashboard needs unscrewing,
    to site radio/cubby box.

    how little can I get away with undoing do you suggest, guys.

    thanks

    Not a lot I'm afraid. There's a link on here somewhere that shows how to do it. Enter "radio" in the search box. That should find the links.

      Search

      following nearly the first search;
      says start at bonnet release with first fixing screw, and work towards centre console.

      hope there aren't to many!

      still at least the electrical side looks easy.

        ;',.';';,.;

        Is it buggery,
        Might have to get garage to fit it properly, everything appears to have been
        fixed together with
        extra strong, firm, best Japanese-super plastic and screws

        Common opinion, throughout, the in-car entertainment world is,

        that half the dash needs removing,

        and unlike my headlamp replacement, this is going to need, an expert.

        unless anyone knows a shortcut, i've booked just such an expert, for next week.

            Once you have the trim removed as per the above link its quite easy... you can get a wiring harness from the shop on this forum here

            its £7.50 and well worth it as it saves cutting and playing with any wires!

              andy, thanks so much, your link really helps with these to refer to

              with a little help, from workmate, we were able to ge the radio in and working
              this morning I achievd the Bulb, this afternoon
              (confusingly) someone operated the window (off the key)
              repeatedly, key in/out
              window up/down,
              as soon as I put it all back together again, glass remained, sulkily,
              in the bottom of door as usual

              what gives?

                          door

                          theres a window lock, which probably does all of them then,
                          thats in the door next to all the window rockers.

                          Haven't tried it in conjunction with back window though,
                          must look into that tomorrow
