Back Window Fixed!!!!

God I love my Surf! Rear window stopped working back in august, and like many others on this forum, would only go up or down if manually assisted (i.e. shoved by hand!).

Anyway, finally got round to buying a motor form a s****ped surf and have just spent a couple of hours fitting it. It was pretty straightforward, just a little bit of trial and error and some common sense. My point is that, dody heads not withstanding, is there any other vehicle that is so easy to fix yourself??? Surfs rule!!

P.S. Yes, window now works like a dream and gave everything a good grease while i was at it.

i bought a 91 ssx surf two weeks ago in sydney and drove it home to alice springs,that is indeed australia, and tryed all the dirt road in between !and yes i do like the car it drives well its a 2.4 td veryy nice looking thing, its a bit thirsty but i guess there is worse !!



but i do need a window fix !!

i am not sure if my problem is the same as yours!
my rear window wont go up when i try , iether with the key in the door or with the switch in the car it makes this beeping noise, the other funny thing is that the dash light "door open"
keeps burning !the night before the window finaly stopped i had a similair thing, the doors was clossed and i tryed to closse the window when i turned the key nothing happend and i heard the beeping noise for the first time, i thought the door wasnt clossed well so i pushed the door a bit, the beeping noise left and the window went up!!
but now there is now way of getting the window up !!i had to drive with the thing down loaded with camping gear, and now more dirt roads !!

there is an awfull lot of bull dust in the car, i had to clean the driver window control panel everything else is fine but i really would like to fix the window !!

never thought of that, ill give that ago go, i would be frustrated if thats all !!!!!!

the local toyato dealer wanted 150 dollar for making a qoute for this problem, so i could bill the dealer i bought the car from, 150 to qoute that is , not to fix!!
imagine it would be the wipper,.....
lets get a manual !!!

Check your tailgate is closed properly! As this buzzer states tailgate not locked in position properly

the door is clossed, no worries !!the wipper is in its places as well, the only noise you hear is the beeping noise when pushing buttons or using the key, so no motor noise, i think on of the sensors must died, i dont have an idea how the must look like witch make searching for them a bit hard !!
