You said it yourself, they are usually known as temp senders, some contain a bimetallic switch others work on wax (its true), the one you need is the fan sender.

My Toy dealer lifted the bonnet. Drew a little sketch on a post-it and looked at Toyota Non-UK EPC disk. Found it in 1 minute and had it for me by lunchtime next day.
Do you think we should have a,"Rate Your Local Toyota," Survey/Sticky type thing to gee them up a bit?
We would have to keep it simple. Ratings could be:

A. Hates imports.
B. Tried but failed miserably.
C. Reasonable service.
D. Super, magic, great - give 'em a star.

Toyota in Barnstaple, North Devon should be given a very wide berth, utterly useless, plus they operate a "no returns" policy. Last I heard they were being investigated by Trading Standards. The Exeter branch are not a lot better.

Got one in July from RRG Bury. They found it on their system no problem.

WELL PEOPLE I HAVE HAD SHOGUNS X TROOPERS GOT PARTS NO PROB ,,,IN THE END I HAD TO TAKE A PHOTO OF MY ENGINE WERE THE SENDER WENT TO AND AFTER 4 DAYS I GOT ONE BUT IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE MY OLD ONE BUT THE MAN @ RRG SAYS ITS RIGHT BUT THEY HAVE A NOTICE UP NO ELEC PARTS OR IMPORT PARTS WILL BE REFUNDED
WHAT P***ED ME OFF WAS I COULDNT PAY BY CREDIT CARD OVER THE PHONE 12MILS THERE 12MLS BACK SAME AGAIN WHEN THEY SAID THEY HAD PART IN JUST TO FIND OUT IT WAS WRONG ONE THEN SAME AGAIN TO FINNALLY GET THE SWITCH THAT DOESNT LOOK LIKE THE RIGHT ONE ,,ITS ALL GOOD FUN PS I NOW HAVE AN AIRLOCK SO ITS OFF TO THE PUB
