cd spits disc out

Hiya
got a toyota surf 1991,its got the original radio and seperate cd toyota original,but for some reason when i put the cd in it just spits it back out any ideas?

is it pre recorded?
scratched?
dirty?
or upside down?

If it's the original they can be tempermental and stroppy. I lost patience with mine and replaced it with a UK one, quite easily done using the cable adaptor sold in the forum shop or at halfruads, and a cubby hole slot to cover the hole left from the Jap double din fitting.

When I bought mine it had an original double din radio in it. We took a CD & a tape along to test it and neither worked, so the garage replaced it with a shiney new Clarion double din one. Well pleased at that. Best to ditch the original and fit a UK spec radio/cd.
