The bang method works for me. I must remember to stick an old bit of carpet on the garage wall because I am scuffing my spare wheel cover.
    It's only a hobby!

Even better, cover it with an old carpet - great improvement...

have you got the four sensors?
do you have a tow bar?

I do, after fitting I had to disconect the middle two sensors cause it was picking up the tow bar all the time. Now the outer two sensors work fine, but it is possible to hit those little posts they love to fit in supermarket car parks if you back straight in (cause the outside sensors don't pick them up)(you know the posts I mean between 1.5 and 3 feet high, just small enough that you can't see them, and gurantee you'll have a passenger at the time, oh how they laugh at you).

Oh if ever you find the buzzer that powers all the warning sounds (reverse, lights on, KEYS IN THE IGNITION) please let me know.

The Sonics have a cone shaped pickup pattern, so if they are too low or facing down a tad then they see the ground and bleep.

Some 'brains' have a sensitivity control to stop false alerts.

The reversing bleeper is in the dash (?)

                          Yes but where!

I've been looking on and off for over two years, just short of ripping the whole dash out.
I'll hopefully find it when I take the dash out to replace the duct hose thats missing for the windscreen demisters (job thats now two years overdue!).

before my neighbours kill me ...

does ANYONE have any idea where this beeper is.

Just acquired me a 94 auto, read the forum for some advice before hand and was prepared for the dash dismantling to rid myself of the speed bell, but lo and behold I have been blessed with a machine that does not have one fitted.

What it does have, however, is a reversing alarm. Really do not need this and it is making me REALLY unpopular with the neighbours so, since I have to strip the dash out to fit a stereo, can anyone tell me how to rid myself of this dratted thing while I'm in there?

                              Please.

I have to say, I am impressed with the vehicle itself (the teflon tyres are being replaced shortly) but this is putting a bit of a downer on the whole experience.
