New keys

I have just got a 1996 SSRX. I got it with only 1 key, which has the remote CL built in.
My questions are
1. Can I go in anywhere and get a standard key cut?
2. Is locking/unlocking with the key the same as with the remote with regard to alarms etc.

yes and yes ,had mine done at the local locksmith ,the remotes are almost impossable to get hold of,went to toyota main dealer and they did nt want to know,need to check it works before you drive off though because like any thing old its probably worn,better safe than sorry
