wot charge you guys got ?

I just put a secondhand alternator on my 4Runner as the last one failed on the way/at the show last week . I had got the old one to charge for a while and only got 13v charge rate max . The 'new' one is the same . I normally get around 14.5v out of an alternator on other vehicles . Wot you guys getting , if you have checked in the past.

I get between 13.7 and 14.2 it varies as I have got a lot of power going to a lot of places.

Clean all your terminals including the earths and see what ya get then.Also check the reading at the alternator output terminal itself.if it's higher there then dirty terminals may be the problem.

Thanks for replies . I am normally very good on auto electrics , but this one is annoying me . As mine is a petrol 2.0cc it has a seperate alternator and regulator box . I may have to check the cut out for the max voltage output . They used to be adjustable on older vehicles , this box looks sealed .
