  • Twin Batteries

    Hi

Does anyone know how the two batteries work? If I leave my lights on, will one battery drain down but still have enough juice to start the car from the other one? Can I tell if one battery is failing?

The owners manual is a bit scant in this regard.

Twin batteries are linked in parallel and if one is faulty it will drain the other.Batteries should be disconnected and tested separately if you suspect one is failing.

There are battery isolators available which will allow extra equipment to be operated from one battery and have the other for starting. This battery then recharges when engine is running.

There's a lot of info on previous threads too. Try clicking on the search button at the top of the page and search for battery. I just tried it and it came back with loads of stuff
