Diagnostic socket

Hi Guys,

I hope someone here can guide me. I'm looking for info as to where the diagnostic socket is located. Also is my surf OBD-I or OBD-II?

1996 3.0TD SSR-G (KZN185).

I have an interface (OBD-I) that I used to use on my VW passat and I'm sure if I knew where the socket was I could make it work.

it's right on top of the engine... can't miss it!... it's a black box about 1x2" with diagnostic written on it...

lift the lid and the socket's under there

probably me look dumb thinking of another motor!!...

pretty sure it's at the front left of the rocker cover as you look at it (or in that vicinity!)
